Ever been on the hunt for the perfect clothing item but always fall short on it fitting all of your needs? Yeah, been there. It can kind of overwhelming nowadays to find a particular article of clothing you're after with having so many retailers to choose from. Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands and deal with what you got, and that's exactly what I did with this little number!
Sweater (old, similar here) || Overall Dress (styled here) || Over the Knee boots || Earrings c/o via Rocksbox (use code: PASTELNPINKBLOGXOXO for your first month free!) || Tote
Happy Friday friends!
Anyone else has trouble finding sweater dresses that are the right length for them? I feel like I'm at the awkward height where something is too short to be a dress and awkwardly too long for me to be a top. I had always loved the look of cute sweater dresses with over the knee boots and I've yet to find the perfect one that looks just right to me. Also with being on a budget, I was really trying not to spend a ton of money on clothes after the After Party Sale (Quick RIP to my bank account).

After falling short on not finding the ideal sweater dress to rock this winter I thought I would just take matters into my own hands and improvise with what I got. I have always loved this distressed sweater and have actually had it since high school (it was also my very first Urban Outfitters purchase!). With the length, it had always looked weird with jeans so I'd always paired it with my favorite pair of leggings but had always thought if only it was a few inches longer it'd be such a cute sweater dress.
The idea kinda came out of the blue, but it was so simple, why not layer something under my sweater dress to add a couple inches so I don't flash the whole world?? I decided to play around with the idea of layering a skirt underneath to give it some length, but every skirt I paired with it just didn't look right. I'm not how this came about, but I just randomly decided to throw the sweater over my favorite black overall dress and BAM instantly my sweater turned into the perfect sweater dress. And there you have it, how my barely long enough to be a dress sweater turned into the sweater dress of my dreams.
Haha, on the real note though, I thought I'd share this fun little clothing hack with you all. If you have a piece that you really want to wear it as a dress, try layering it over a mini skirt or even a dress (I think bodycon dresses would work great)! It's a great way to repurpose your clothing pieces and give them a little more life!
