I hope you all are doing well. I did a poll on Twitter earlier this week (which btw if you're not following me, you should! @pastelnpink) asking what you all would like to see on the blog this week and many of you said you wanted to see an everyday hair care routine!
My hair has to be my favorite part about me. If you know me then you know that I refer to my hair as "my child." It's my comfort blanket and when I get it cut, I cry a little on the inside when it's a little too short for my liking (a little dramatic? Maybe.). Today I'll give you an inside how I keep my hair looking it's best!
Shampoo and Conditioner
Obviously, you have to wash your hair right? I typically wash my hair every other day or even every two to three times a day. Some people tell me they think it's pretty gross, but in reality, it's not really healthy to wash your hair every day. Freshman year of college I "trained" my hair to go two to three days without washing it so it doesn't get super oily in-between washes.
I'm pretty experimental when it comes to the type of shampoo and conditioners I use. Lately, I have been using the Superfruit healthy hair shampoo by HASK. HASK has to be one of my favorite hair product brands and this shampoo smells delicious!
Deep Conditioner
Once a week or once every two weeks I like to give my hair nice deep conditioning treatment. I got this deep conditioner in my Popsugar Must Have box last month and have been loving trying it out. It makes my hair super soft and I love doing conditioning treatments in the cooler months because my hair gets super dried out.
Like I said, I'm pretty experimental when it comes to shampoos and conditioners. My shampoo and conditioner had come with a sample of HASK's healthy hair deep conditioner. I love getting samples and trying out new hair products. This one works wonders and I definitely recommend it!
A little side tip:
When I was in high school I use to use olive oil as an at-home deep conditioning treatment. I would only put it on the ends of my hair (NOT the roots or your hair will look SUPER oily!!) and leave it in for maybe 15 - 30 minutes. I would wash it out and my hair would be super silky!
As for brushing my hair...
Thankfully my hair is super pin-straight and I don't really get a ton of tangles. I know this may sound gross, strange, or whatever but I don't really brush my hair... *insert monkey covering its eyes emoji here.* I'd say I brush my hair maybe once in the morning if it's looking a little wonky, but that's pretty much it.
Water-Water Water
And lastly, lots and lots of water. It's pretty much over said, but water does WONDERS to your body from your skin, internally, to your hair, everything! I make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep my hair, skin, and body looking it's best.
And, that's it! That's my typical hair care routine. I also want to add that I don't use a whole lot of heat tools on my hair to help prevent my hair from getting damaged and split ends. The only time I really use a hairdryer if I'm in a rush to go somewhere and need to dry my hair and I only curl my hair for special occasions.
What's your hair care routine like? Let me know in the comments down below! I hope you all have a wonderful day and as always, thank you for reading!
