Hello everyone and happy April Fools!
Fun fact about today is that it's my parent's 22nd anniversary! Kinda funny that they got married on April Fools day, huh? We always joked around saying that the joke is that they're not really married, haha.
Usually at the beginning of the month I do a 'Monthly Highlights' post talking about all the highlights and fun things that had happened in the past month. This month I decided to switch things up a bit and do a monthly goals post. I have been seeing many bloggers post their goals they want to achieve by the end of the month and I thought why not give a swing at it? I mean, what better way to keep you accountable for your goals than your readers, now am I right?
Before we jump into my goals for the month I just want to point out a few things with this outfit. First off, how beautiful is this top?? I love all of the lace detailing and the high neck top! So feminine and pretty!
As for my bag, it was a little DIY project that I had done! I have been obsessing over the Rebecca Minkoff cross body, but I couldn't justify spending $250 on the bag. I had actually stumbled upon a DIY version of this purse that Dorothy from Prep in Your Step had posted on her blog and was so excited to be able to make my own version of this purse! You can check out her blog post here to see how you can make your own tassel cross body bag!
Whew, now finally on to the monthly goals!
1. Go completely vegetarian for the whole month
For about a year now I have been on and off with a vegetarian diet. I really don't eat beef or pork, and I only eat chicken on a slight occasions. The hardest thing for me to give up is fish. I love seafood and salmon is probably the hardest of them al for me to give up. Reason why I have had an interest in going vegetarian was just for health reasons. I have read and heard so many things about the meat industry that just freaks me out a bit.
2. Go outside of my apartment more
I'm really bad at just going straight to my apartment after class and just bumming it there all day. My time in college is starting to wind down and I want to go out and have more experiences while I can. I want to make an effort to explore more of campus, or even just go out a coffee shop and do my homework there instead of staying cooped up at my place all day.
3. Run a mile in under 9 minutes
For pretty much up until the beginning of my second year in college I hated running. It was boring, my chest always hurt and I was so bad at it. For some reason last year I decided to pick it up and I was hooked. Even though now I begin every workout with a 1 mile warm up, I have never been able to get it under the 9 minute mark. Hopefully this month I'll be able to!
I hope you all enjoy reading about my goals this month and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Cheers to the start of April (aka, the best month of the year because it's my birthday month)!
